Chianti Classico Riserva 2004
100% Sangiovese.
Matured for 24 months in a mixture of new and old barriques
Bottled in Burgundy bottles, a first for Chianti Classico!
1950 Bottles made Released June 2007
This represents our top wine. Bottled in January 2007, it won’t be seen outside the cellar until June (we believe bottle ageing is just as important as time in barrel). The Riserva is 100% Sangiovese and 100% Il Borghetto and each barrel selected to go into the Riserva represented the very best that the vineyards can produce. There are only 1950 bottles made. Pre-release orders can be made via the winery. |

Chianti Classico Bilaccio 2004
95% Sangiovese
5% Cabernet Sauvignon
Matured for 16 months in a mixture of new and old barriques. 8500 Bottles made
2004 was what one might call a classic Chianti vintage. Ideal weather conditions from spring until autumn resulted in wonderfully ripe, clean fruit enabling us to produce a supple, elegant wine typical of the wines we hope to see emerging from Borghetto over the coming years. The Bilaccio 2004 was bottled in June 2006 and released in the late autumn and is available t o buy from the winery now.

Rosie 2004 IGT
80% Merlot 20% Cabernety Sauvignon
Matured for 24 months in a mixture of new and old barriques
1450 Bottles made Released June 2007
Il Borghetto has a number of small merlot blocks producing fruit good enough to stand on its own, but combined with some our very best Cabernet Sauvignon, it produces something very special indeed. And so we have ended up with a mere 1400 bottles of this dark, brooding wine. Bottled alongside the Riserva in January 2007, they will be released together in June, although pre-release orders can be made through il Borghetto. |

Collina 21 IGT Toscana 200
45% Sangiovese, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot
Matured for 16 months in a mixture of new and old barriques. 4500 Bottles made
An IGT wine is one that falls outside the jurisdiction of the Chianti DOCG, but should nevertheless reflect the area it comes from (IGT roughly translates as ‘typical of the area’). This wine is so representative of the vineyards at Il Borghetto we even named it after the address of the winery! This is a soft, perfumed wine, made with grapes from literally all the four corners of the vineyards here at Il Borghetto. Perfect with anything from bruschetta to boar. |
